Give What You Have
March 17, 2008
Ever have the feeling that, “it’s not good enough,” or “some many people do it better,” or “who am I to be doing this?”
Here’s a thought from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:
“Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.”
Let me know what you think. I welcome your comments.
In a way, this is a very liberating thought. I also associate it with – give without pondering, without a pause – just do it. However, the negativity at times can be so negative that one is not able to look at any other (positive.) And yet…i think the key is in liberating one self – giving up the negative, in a way not even being positive (!), just doing it…and yes, who knows it could be better than what one thinks. But would that even matter? The problem arises more when you raise the bar high, you don’t want to accept something mediocre. But yes, i believe, the job is eventually to free yourself…to let go, to let it flow.
